The English Mass: Every Sunday at 4:00 p.m.
Welcome to the International Community of the Gerardus Majella Parish
Besides a large contingent of Dutch Catholics, our parish is also home to a vibrant and growing community of Catholics from around the world. It is served primarily by priests of the Community of Saint John (CSJ). Every Sunday at 4:00 p.m. we come together in the Gerardus Majella church (Vleutenseweg 517, Utrecht) for worship and fellowship. Over the course of the year we also organize community evenings, faith formation gatherings, and a potluck/barbecue. Please join us! We’d love to get to know you.
Sunday Mass in English – with catechism for children
To make our 4:00 p.m. Mass more family-friendly we have available a family room (known as the “Gerarduskamer” – enter through the door to the left of the altar) where parents can take babies and toddlers. We also have a dedicated team of volunteers who prepare a children’s catechism that takes place during the Mass (ages 4-8).
Please join us after Mass for coffee / tea / lemonade – every Sunday in the Thomas a Kempis Leerhuis, behind the church. This is a great way to get to know other parishioners.
Volunteer ministries: Another way to get to know people is to join in one of our parish ministries. We are always looking for new people to sing or play music with our choir; serve as a sacristan, reader or catechist; take up the collection; prepare the coffee and tea, and help out in other ways. To learn more, approach the choir or one of the members of the “core team” listed below.
Confession: A priest is available before every Mass, from 3:30 to 3:55 p.m. (Please keep in mind that he needs to finish in time for Mass.) Confessions can also be made by appointment.
For sacramental preparation: Would you or your child like to prepare for baptism, first eucharist or confirmation? Our parish offers preparation programs for each of these sacraments. For more information, please contact:
